Guidelines

MultiPlay currently accepts submissions for our blog. We provide a platform for all academics, and are particularly keen to promote the work of researchers early in their careers.

All submissions should be emailed to networkmultiplay@gmail.com with the subject line ‘Blog Submission’. Each submission must include a short biography that details your research interests.

Articles and Essays

Please provide an abstract of your article or essay. This abstract must describe what your chosen topic is, what research will be referred to, and why this chosen subject is of importance. The abstract must be no more than 300 words. Upon reviewing your abstract we will then make the decision whether to publish your full article or essay. You should receive a response in no more than one week. Deadlines for the full submission are flexible and at your convenience. If you already have a completed article, we still request that you submit an abstract before we will consider the full piece.

Your full article has a maximum word count of 10,000, and minimum word count of 5000. This includes references and the bibliography. All articles must use Harvard referencing.

All content must be related in some way to digital games or the gaming community. However, we are a network that supports multidisciplinary approaches so we welcome creative ideas on these topics.

Video content

We accept submissions in the form of video content. Video proposals should be emailed to us, with a 300 word description of the topic, how the video will address the subject matter and why the subject is important. We will respond to your proposal within seven days.

All videos should be submitted in MP4 format or as YouTube links.
All videos must have closed captions/subtitles.
